AMNESTY

Amnesty visually explores the act of rekindling the sense of spirituality and personal re-encounters with religion. Recently, there seems to be a disconnect in my life, where I have questioned and strayed away from my connection with God, my creator. The title of this series expresses how eternally forgiving my God is, and despite my recent lack of relationship, I know that His love exudes kindness and forgiveness. This project seeks to revive the longing for spirituality by capturing imagery and triggering nostalgic memories from congregations where I frequented as a child and youth parishioner. St. Margaret Mary Chapel, St. Philip Neri and Toronto Necropolis are locations where this process and documentation occurred in Toronto. I have documented areas in and around these locations, as they are portrayed through the unique experiences through my eyes. The images presented are hauntingly beautiful through soft and moody movements, replicating the feelings I would experience in these locations, all while illustrating the ethereal and dark atmospheres.
